CAS-5A FO-118 telemetry 2022-12-27

70cm spectrum with SDR-Console

Strong GMSK 4k8 UHF telemetry. Data uploaded to #satnogs , software and hardware used:

  • RX at aprox 435.650 MHz Wide FM BW 10 kHz
  • 2 x 13 el LFA X-Yagi (InnovAntenna) switched between HOR and VER polarisation
  • AlfaSpid RAS az/el rotor
  • LNA Mini-70 from SHF Elektronik
  • LMR-400 coax
  • Airspy Mini SDR
  • SDR-Console v3 with doppler correction of downlink and satellite tracking, rotor control
  • PstRotator for rotor control interface between SDR-Console and RAS controller
  • VB-Cable: virtual audio cable for piping audio from SDR Console to Soundmodem. Set to 96 kHz and 16 bit.
  • HS-Soundmodem v0.27 at mode FSK G3RUH 4800bd.
  • GetKISS+ v 1.4.2 from DK3WN

CAS-10 active

CAS-10 has been deployed and is active with strong telemetry. Unfortunately the satellite will never go over 2 degree elevation at my QTH (JO89WK).

Updated satfiles for Icom and SDR-Console

The satellite frequency files for IC-705, IC-9700 and SDR-Console has been updated with CAS-5A, CAS-10 and IO-177.

All files can be downloaded from Github

If you have problem navigating in Github you can use this direct link and then just choose “Download” and you get all four files for IC-705 and IC-9700.

CAS-5 FO-118 new satellite with transponder

CAS-5A

The CAS-5, designated as Fengtai-OSCAR 118 (FO-118), satellite was successfully deployed into orbit in december 2022 (2022-12-09). CW and GMSK telemetry has been recieved and the U/V transponder has been active by several ham radio operators.

GreenCube QSO 2022-11-21 at 300bd

Managed to work two QSOs today with GreenCube at 300bd. K8DP and EA1DR. I think the decode was a little bit better with 300bd then 1200bd. TX power was about 30 watts and no problem getting in on the satellite.
