Put P3E into Orbit and Join the Pixel Action

AMSAT-DL has created a special opportunity for individual participation and support of the successor to AO-10, AO13 and AO-40, currently under construction. All are invited to visit the newly established Internet website, www.p3e-satellite.org, to support this technical challenge through the purchase of pixel fields and to become part of the ambitious amateur radio project.

All together, 4,800 fields of 10×10 pixels can display your name, callsign, a personal picture or logo. Depending on your donation limit to the project, you can reserve as many fields at 50 Euros each as you wish. The background image is a view into the new satellite with its 17 electronics modules.

As special thanks, we prepare a personal certificate for download at the end of the order process and you can win a raffle for exclusive travel to the satellite laboratory and to the launch of P3E. The one who takes the most pixels automatically earns a trip to the launch. Additional trips will be raffled off among the remaining participants. During a visit to the P3E laboratory you can experience close up the construction of the satellite through its critical phases. The trip to the launch, which includes being guest of honor at the launch party, promises to be a unique experience.

Such an exceptional way of being able to participate in an amateur radio project of superlatives will certainly not happen again very often. Following the launch of the Internet site www.p3e-satellite.org on September 1, 2006, you have the best chance to go there yourself. As a special feature there is also the possibility of giving pixel fields to friends or family members. A special gift card can be ordered and personalized for the recipient.

During the AMSAT-UK colloquium we tested the project called "Pixel Action" before an international audience. Three certificates for the allocation of the first three fields were auctioned for around 750 Pounds among the participants. The resonance to this action was enormous and will certainly spread internationally.

A second pixel action is also currently running in parallel to support the AMSAT Mars Mission. It is directed at an expanded target group of individuals whose technological interest goes beyond amateur radio. Under the same conditions, pixel fields can be reserved under www.Ticket-to-Mars.org on two different pictures.

Reservation of pixels and entry of the requested information is performed in several steps. The data transmission occurs over a secure connection and payment may be made by wire transfer, via credit card or through PayPal, the eBay payment service.

For both actions flyers are available, which you can use to inform and encourage colleagues, friends, family or co-workers to join in.

We look forward to numerous clicks and a high level of participation in the actions, which will support further work on the missions.
