AMSAT-SM donerar 50.000 till nya satelliten P3E

I det nyutkomna numret av AMSAT-SM Journal meddelas att den svenska avdelningen av AMSAT = The Radio Amateur Satellite Corporation, donerar 50.000 kronor till en ny hgflygande satellit med stor tckning som ska kunna skjutas upp redan i r om planerna hller. Efter de olyckor som drabbat den senaste supersatelliten AO-40 som sakta men skert frstrdes av lckande raketbrnsle, r nu behovet stort av en satellit som kan ta ver ven efter Oscar 10 och Oscar 13 med deras vrldsvida tckning och lnga ppettider.

Mottagare av donationen r tyska AMSAT-DL som har lng erfarenhet av lyckade satellitprojekt. De har ocks bra frbindelser med ESA som skjuter upp raketer frn Korou i Franska Guyana och P3E kan frmodligen f ka med som fripassagerare vilket besparar oss njet att samla in miljontals dollar bara fr uppskjutningen.

Hela rets medlemsavgift i AMSAT-SM, 150 kr, gr oavkortat till det nya satellitprojektet P3E s hr har du chansen att kpa in dig p en egen satellit – som om allt fungerar -rymdbusiness r risky – kommer att gra satellitkontakter mjliga ven med en handjagare. P3E som nr den blir
operativ kommer att f ett Oscar-nummer, fr upplnkar p 29, 435, 1260 och 5650 MHz dvs 10 m, 70 cm, L-band och C-band. Nedlnkarna blir p 2 m, 2.4 GHz (som mnga installerade fr AO-40) och dessutom 24 och 47 GHz dvs K-band och R-band fr de riktiga mikrovgsentusiasterna.

All dates are UTC. The mode change occurs normally between 0100 and 0400 utc on the date shown. The mode will be active from the date shown until the next Mode Change date listed. Mode Configurations are listed below the schedule. If for some unplanned reason we need to work with Echo and
deviate from the plan I will post a note to the this Echo page on AMSAT.ORG.

If a specific transmitter or mode is not listed on a given day then it will be off. For example, if TXB (435.300) is not listed during a 38k4 digital mode period then the FM repeater will be off.

Under 2005 finns ett diplom att fixa ihop genom att kra kontakter via AO-51. Ls nedan:

The AMSAT 51 on 51 Award is given to any station that makes contact with 51 different stations on AMSAT s newest satellite, AO-51, during the year 2005. The award is designed to promote friendship, and encourage contact with handheld and first-time satellite users. Applicants are
encouraged to include contacts with stations making their first satellite contacts.

Contacts may be in any mode (Voice/Packet/PSK-31) and on any band (V/U, V/S, L/S, L/U, H/U). To receive the award, you must submit your log entries either electronically or by photocopy. Entries must indicate date and time (UTC) of the contact, callsign and grid square of the contacted station, and mode used. Only contacts made between 1 January, 2005 and 31 December, 2005 are eligible. Logbooks may be submitted until 30 April, 2006. QSL cards are not required, however logbooks may be checked against other applicant s logs.

Production costs for this award have been underwritten by an anonymous donor to honor Robin Haighton VE3FRH who served as AMSAT President during the construction and launch of AO-51. Consequently all award fees will be applied to the AMSAT Eagle fund.

The donation for the award is $10.00 (US Funds) and AMSAT members receive a $5.00 discount. Award fees may be paid through the AMSAT Online Store once you have received confirmation of eligibility from the Director of Contests and Awards.
